St. Patrick's Day Themed Breakfast & Scavenger Hunt

Hero_650
Every year I surprise my kids with a St. Patrick's Day Breakfast AND Scavenger Hunt! How did this start you may ask? Well, I have a little troll doll that has a St. Patrick's Day outfit and we've come to call him Leprechaun Nickel. Every year, he is the one that brings the sugary breakfast goodies and clues for the hunt!

One year my daughter even lost him at the City Museum in St. Louis and I had to quickly order another one on Amazon Prime! ;) I want to thank Oriental Trading for supplying the party favors AND scavenger hunt prizes! Yay!

LeprechaunNickel1
Let me introduce you to Leprechaun Nickel.

PlateSetting
I set up a breakfast for each kid... Us adults just get the leftovers! lol! Every year I do something a little different and I have a lot of items I've kept and reuse over the years, such as the headband and also metal tin you see the popcorn in. The green table cloth, polka dotted napkin and rainbow plates really made this plate setting colorful and fun!

This Years St. Patrick's Day Breakfast
Food1
Green Milk with a clover leaf straw

Food6
I used the clover leaf straw again and added powdered donuts to it.

Food3
Chocolate Lucky Charms (I think this is new!)

Food2
Green Jell-O and even some sliced up bananas in a tiny St. Patrick's Day mug.

Food4
Buttered popcorn with green sprinkles!

After the kids are done eating, we then start our St. Patrick's Day Scavenger Hunt!

St. Patrick's Day Scavenger Hunt
Clue1
I leave a pot of gold on the breakfast table with the first clue.

Clue2 Clue3
Then the kids follow the clues to get to the next clues. I change these cards up every year to make it interesting. I've had the kids go downstairs, in the garage and even outside to find more clues. I usually add a little inexpensive prize with each clue. Here you'll see glitter clover tattoos and light up batons.

Clue4 Clue5
As you'll see, Oriental Trading has a lot of really nice prizes such as these kick balls and even rubber ducks!

Clue6 Clue7
My daughter will love these St. Patrick's Day bears and the last clue has the kids go on a hunt to find gold coins that I have hidden in a room (or sometimes even outside!).

St. Patrick's Day Craft
CraftThe last couple of years I have even added a craft for the kids to do after the scavenger hunt. This year I selected a simple pin and bead craft from Oriental Trading.

I hope you have some fun ideas on how to celebrate St. Patrick's Day at home with your children. If you're looking for some inexpensive St. Patrick's Day party supplies or prizes, be sure to check out Oriental Trading!

5 Ways to Bring Spring Into Your Home

The weather here in St. Louis has gone from 70 degrees to tornado watches/warnings and now to possible snow/ice this weekend. Whew! I am SO ready for Spring and for Daylight Saving Time. Today I'm sharing with you how to bring Spring to your home sooner with 5 Ways To Bring Spring Into Your Home . Bringing a little Spring into your home is rather easy. You don't need to change up your entire decor, at least not yet... What I try to do is add little touches here and there. 1. Spring Wreaths One way that I bring Spring into my home is by placing a Spring wreath on my front door or on some of the interior doors in the home. My absolute favorite Spring wreath that I've done is my Split Pea Wreath below, but I'm currently working on a Tulip wreath which I'll be sharing in a couple of weeks! I'm also sharing a couple of other Spring wreaths that I've made below: Split Pea Wreath with Burlap Bow Some other Spring wreaths I've designed:   Simple Spring Hoop Wrea

Princess Smart Mirror {My Knight and Me}

I’m so excited to tell you about the adventure-packed new medieval animated series for kids from TeamTO,  My Knight and Me ! I'm also sharing a craft that you can work on with your little Princess- a Princess Smart Mirror! This mirror isn't really 'smart', but it is sparkly, wrapped in ribbons and even monogrammed with your favorite princesses initial! In the cartoon  My Knight and Me  they do have a smart mirror and this mirror will prompt your child with plenty of imaginative play! This show is currently airing on the Cartoon Network weekdays at 12 p.m. My Knight and Me is for kids ages 6-10 and follows the quests of a colorful and charismatic trio of knights in shining armor: loyal, street-smart Jimmy the Squire; daring and determined Cat the Princess; and bold and courageous Henri of Orange, Jimmy’s dad and a charmingly inept, yet passionately chivalrous knight who might not be the most efficient protector of the realm – but sure is the funniest! Together, the kni
