I'm so excited that Change Your Home, Change Your Life™ with Color by Moll Anderson is out in Target stores now! This book helps you find YOUR color, which positively impacts your surroundings, mood, behavior and emotions! I have been decorating my home in neutrals and metallics, because these are colors that fit me and my family. Today I am going to share with you how I used this book to decorate a special place in my home using my favorite colors: metallics and neutrals!

Change Your Home, Change Your Life™ with Color by Moll Anderson is available now in Target stores!

I decided to use Moll Anderson's advice and used 'pops' of metallic color to add interest to this neutral space in my home. You'll see that gold was my metallic color of choice and it is shown in the lamp, on gold dipped eggs, the monogrammed A's, a gold glitter bunny and even the gold metal basket that the birch logs are in!

Moll's book, Change Your Home, Change Your Life™ with Color by Moll Anderson is filled with page after page of vibrant and colorful photographs to help inspire you. There are thirteen colors featured in individual chapters and each includes simple color solutions, "Pop of Color" additions (ways to add pops of color to change the mood of your space, your wardrobe, you life), a colorful cocktail, swatches, colorful trivia and Moll's personal color lessons and stories from her designs and life.

Remember the popular book, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up? It changed the way we thought about organization and joy, yet Moll introduces a new way of thinking with the link between color and mood!

Book3
Moll says that motivating metals work easily with any color palette in the home, but I love to pair them with a clean slate of neutrals. She says the easiest way to add metallics to your home is with accessories such as lighting, fabrics, mirrors, etc.

Here are some detail shots of the gold accessories (motivating metals) that I added to this area in my home:

You'll see that this space is peaceful and calm with the neutral colors and yet the metallic adds a little visual interest and warmth to it.

Book4
“I became interested in color when I discovered that it was not only a reflection of my mood, but my state of being. I looked around and saw I was living in black and white, and I realized I was hiding. In this book I share the transformational elements of my own journey with color to help you transform your personal color story.” - Moll Anderson

5 Ways to Bring Spring Into Your Home

The weather here in St. Louis has gone from 70 degrees to tornado watches/warnings and now to possible snow/ice this weekend. Whew! I am SO ready for Spring and for Daylight Saving Time. Today I'm sharing with you how to bring Spring to your home sooner with 5 Ways To Bring Spring Into Your Home . Bringing a little Spring into your home is rather easy. You don't need to change up your entire decor, at least not yet... What I try to do is add little touches here and there. 1. Spring Wreaths One way that I bring Spring into my home is by placing a Spring wreath on my front door or on some of the interior doors in the home. My absolute favorite Spring wreath that I've done is my Split Pea Wreath below, but I'm currently working on a Tulip wreath which I'll be sharing in a couple of weeks! I'm also sharing a couple of other Spring wreaths that I've made below: Split Pea Wreath with Burlap Bow Some other Spring wreaths I've designed:   Simple Spring Hoop Wrea...

Thankful Tree #PAWsomeGifts #ClausAndPaws

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser, MARS Incorporated. All opinions are mine alone. #PAWsomeGifts #ClausAndPaws #CollectiveBias This Thanksgiving, I wanted to do something special for our cat, Rose. I have a Thanksgiving light up tree that I put up every year, but I wanted to turn it into a 'thankful tree' to appreciate our cat. I created some leaves for the tree that we could hang up on it every time Rose did something good. If Rose earned 5 leaves on the tree, we would fill her  Temptations® Snacky Mouse  with her favorite treats from MARS Pet at Walmart . If she was bad, we would take a leaf away... Rose tends to 'sneak' into our garage at times when I'm loading it up with the kids backpacks in the morning or unloading groceries. So, the thankful tree is to encourage good behavior and to show her that we appreciate her and are thankful for her good behavior! Shop for Rewards for your Cat   I visited my local Walmart store...
