My First Ulta Experience & Haul!

UltaMain1
couple of weeks ago, I went to Ulta for the FIRST time. I know, CRAZY... I had never been in one of their stores, even though I'm always hearing friends/blogging friends, etc. rave about Ulta. I had a few items in mind that I wanted, so I thought I'd check the store out. The only item I didn't find that I thought Ulta carried was Bumble and Bumble hair products, but maybe that particular store just didn't carry them. Today I am sharing the items I found and my thoughts on them. And, as a BONUS... I am sharing two beauty products I am addicted to right now that I didn't find at Ulta. So, read all the way to the bottom to find out about those goodies.

My Thoughts on Ulta:
ULTARwards_650
I will definitely be back to Ulta! It reminded me of a mix between Sephora and Target. Although, they don't have everything that Sephora has... but, they do carry Urban Decay, Clinique and some other high-end brands. What can save you money, though is that they have a Rewards program AND they also email coupons out quite a bit! So, you could land up saving a ton of money shopping here for items that Sephora has or even that Target (or any other drug store) would carry. They also have an EXTENSIVE hair product selection, just aisles and aisles of it. There is even a salon in the back, although I've never heard of anyone going there to get their hair done.

What I Found at Ulta:

Burt's Bees Cucumber & Sage Facial Cleansing Towelettes:
CleaningTowelettes
I happened to visit Ultra right after Autumn's dance competition rehearsal and I needed to get some facial cleansing wipes for her face. I use a facial cleanser and try to avoid towelettes for my own face, so I didn't have any at home. I would say these are MEH... I've tried them out on my own face and the scent is just kinda weird... and, they do get the makeup off, but they feel kind of harsh on my face. So, I wouldn't get these again, but we'll use them up.

Clinique Different Lipstick in A Different Grape

Lippy1

Lippy2
The color pictured above is a little dark, this lipstick is more of a true berry color... I think in the very first photo of this post, it looks similar to the color. I have a lot of pinks, reds, natural colors and brown... but, no berry colors in my lippy collection. The funny thing is that I think I used to have this same exact color YEARS ago. The color seems familiar to me and so does the tube.

Here is A Different Grape on my lips. I love this color!

it Vitality Cheek Flush Stain - Magical in Mauve

Blush
Not only was I wanting a berry lip color, but I wanted to add a berry blush to my collection. I had received some it cosmetics in my Ipsy bag and decided to try this berry colored blush. It  IS highly pigmented though, so I really need to be careful with how much I apply to my cheeks! I am wearing it in the photo of me that is pictured above this one.

Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow

UDeyeshadow
I have several of the Urban Decay Naked palettes and hope to have ALL of them someday. The first palette I use a lot and I ran out of one of the colors in it. I asked one of the workers at Ulta if they sold the colors individually and she said no. Well, she was wrong! I went to look at the individual colors sold by Urban Decay and found the Naked color. All of the colors to the shadows in the Naked palettes are labeled by name. I also took it over to the palette and compared the color to the color in the palette and it matched. So, YAY! Buying the individual eye shadow was so much cheaper than replacing the entire Naked palette!

Bra Converting Clip

BraConvertClip1

BraConvertClip2
This Bra Converting Clip is something I've seen other bloggers rave about and I had intended on buying it through Amazon, but never got around to it. I was excited when I saw it at the Ulta store! It works great with cold shouldered tops to hide your bra and cami straps! I do have to have my husband do it for me, since I can't seem to hook them to the clip on my own!

Here's a really bad photo... but, give you an idea of how it looks in action!

Bonus Products!!
These aren't products I found at Ulta, but just products I am in love with right now!

Madam C.J. Walker Brassica Seed Oil (Scent & Shine)
Oil2
I received this in my latest Vox Box from Influenster and I really didn't think much to it, until I put it on... and WOW. Oh my gosh! I love this stuff! I usually put it on right before I spray my hair with hair spray and it really makes it silky, adds just a LITTLE shine AND helps with any frizzy fly aways. I do have to be careful not to put a lot near my roots or it'll make my hair look greasy. But, I'm really impressed. It also has such a great scent to it, that even my husband noticed! It is sold at Sephora!

The BrowGal Eyebrow Gel (Clear & Water Resistant)
BrowGel1

BrowGel2
I received this Eyebrow Gel in my winter Fab Fit Fun box and I LOVE this product, too! I will be replenishing it when I run out, too! It is just a clear eye brow gel! I apply this after I do my eyes with my DIPBROW from Anastasia. It helps give my brows a more finished look.

Do you shop at Ulta? What do you love about it?

My Invisalign Journey (Trays 9-15) and Progression Photos

Today I am going to share a little more about My Invisalign Journey with you. Back in May, I shared my first Invisalign post HERE and talked about my first 8 trays with Invisalign. Today I am going to share some information and progression photos for Trays 9-15. And, no, I am not done with Invisalign yet. After your first round of trays (I had 15 trays), they start revision trays. Unfortunately, I found out I have 18 revision trays... I am currently on tray 3 of those. I will continue to share updates as my progress continues. I talk about why I went with Invisalign and what the entire process was like in my first post (see link below). I am not going to repeat it all in this post, but I will share my progression photos with you. If you have any questions, be sure to let me know in the comments. Y'all! I DID IT! 2016 Chicago Marathon Recap!!!

I am really excited to share this post with all of you today. I have been wanting to run a marathon for a really, really, REALLY long time. I was too afraid to do it, I was afraid I would fail. I started out running in 2009 after I had my daughter and signed up to run 500 miles in one year with friends I met on  Babycenter   I started out walking and running... but, I did it! I completed 500 miles in 2009. My first 5K was at our local zoo and then I branched out and did a Halloween 10K. After that, I signed up for my first half marathon here in St. Louis and my second half marathon was the Wine & Dine at Disney... My first half marathon time was 2:35 and my best has been 2:04 and a HUGE dream/goal of mine is to complete one in under 2:00 hours. But... first I toyed around with the idea of running a marathon.  All  of my running friends kept telling me to JUST DO IT. That I'd do just fine. But, I was sacred.... Finally, 7 years later I have RAN MY FIRST MARATHON! ...
